Guy Fawkes ready for Colchester Castle Park spectacular
BUILT using a boiler suit, old newspapers, a ball of tights and at least four curtains, Guy Fawkes is ready for his big day.
Judy and Bernard Alden, fundraisers for King Coel’s Kittens, have created this impressive Guy ahead of Monday’s Castle Park spectacular.
The body is a massive boiler suit stuffed with old Gazettes and dressed in several curtains, including a lace one adding a frilly touch.
A ball of tights makes up the head, which has a hand-made hat placed on top of it.
On Monday evening, the Town Watch will march the Guy through Castle Park and down to the bonfire, where Dynamic Fireworks will launch a showstopping display watched by up to 8,000.
The show, starting at 6pm, will be the 41st organised by the charity, which this year marks 50 years of supporting Colchester causes.
Tickets are £8 for adults and £4 for children aged five and over. Children under five are free but require a ticket.
For tickets, go to Colchester Tourist Information Office on Queen Street.
