Waste collection plant set for Ardleigh? Plans to go public.

PLANS for a waste transfer site in Ardleigh are to go on display.

Residents and interested parties can learn about the proposal ear-marked for the Colchester/Tendring border at a public exhibition on Wednesday, November 7.

Essex County Council intends to submit a planning application for the waste transfer station on land adjacent to the A120 Trunk Road in Ardleigh.

If approved, it would handle around 115,000 tonnes of household waste a year, collected from local residents.

It would collect there before being transported to waste treatment facilities.

The public exhibition will take place at Ardleigh Village Hall, Station Road, between 4pm and 7pm.

Good idea. Its 10 miles to the current tip for me so this might stop me fly tipping as im lazy and this would be closer!

Joking aside I think this is a good idea, they are not burying or incinerating, just collecting and distributing so no lasting environmental damage.
