"I will change" - banned brother writes to Gazette from his prison cell
A MAN banned from Colchester due to his frequent offending has written exclusively to the Gazette - promising to fight the order.
Kelvin Mathers, 31, is currently serving a prison term in Chelmsford jail.
He and brother, Ashley, 29, were banned from the entire borough of Colchester after clocking up 80 convictions between them.
In a frank letter, written from his prison cell, Kelvin apologised for his previous actions and said he wants quit the drink.
Excerpt from the letter:
"To Colchester Gazette,
"I am writing this because I am not happy about this injunction banning me from Colchester.
"I have done some bad things in life and I am sorry to some of the people.
"I have not got into any trouble when not drunk so I will have to get help - and I can do it."
Kelvin Mathers: Prisoner number A329OAY, HMP Chelmsford.
The full letter, pictures and full report ONLY in Thursday's Colchester.
