County council wins health award

Essex County Council has won an award for its work to improve community Health.

It is the first authority of its kind to be recognised by the Royal Society of Public Health, after winning the prestigious Health Promotion and Community Wellbeing Award.

The award extends to three years, the highest level of classification available.

County councillor Ann Naylor, responsible for health and wellbeing said: “Essex County Council is committed to demonstrating best practice in health promotion. Congratulations to all involved in winning such a prestigious award.”
