* Football mad Norman Duncan has made his debut on Match of the Day - at the age of 100.
Arsenal fan Norman was guest of honour at the Emirates stadium to watch his beloved Gunners and met manager Arsene Wenger and football commentator John Motson.
* Off-duty officer Ian Dibell, who was shot when he went to the aid of his neighbour, was officially killed in the execution of his duty because he was carrying his warrant card.
PC Dibell was shot in the chest by Peter Reeve close to his home in Redbridge Road, Clacton.
* Starstruck fans screamed as they met pop star Matt Cardle who was signing copies of his new album at Sainsbury's in Stanway.
