Con artists in Colchester

DESPICABLE con artists are targeting and threatening elderly and vulnerable people in Colchester.

Heartless criminals are knocking on the doors of people aged 90 and over, mainly in the St John’s area, and pretending to have noticed damage to their roofs.

The trusting residents then pay £20 to £40 for a replacement tile.

However the pair of criminals, a man and a woman, then try their luck for a second time.

Residents are being warned to watch out for a couple in the area.

The man is white, middle-aged, of medium build and has dark hair.
 

The woman is also white, middle aged, of slim build and also has dark hair.
