A FIRM has been fined £12,000 after a sub-contractor fell from a forklift truck and fractured his skull.

The company admitted failing in their duty to not expose workers to risk and providing inappropriate equipment following an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.

Falling seven metres is no laughing matter and the H&SE were right to prosecute -- though the statement "failing in their duty to NOT expose workers to risk" is worrying since there are risks in all aspects of daily life; it's how you go about managing the risks that is crucial.
