FORMER marines gathered to support five men charged with murder in Afghanistan.

The group met outside Colchester's Military Corrective Training Centre.

Former Royal Marine Glynn Roberts, from Chelmsford, helped to organise the demonstration.

He said: "It's not a protest. We are showing our support for them and raising awareness."

The five marines were charged with the murder of an Afghan national in September last year.

They have since been released from the Military Corrective Training Centre pending another hearing.
