A student suffered horrific arm injuries after being attacked with broken glass at Essex University's Wivenhoe campus.

The first year student, aged 18, was treated by plastic surgeons after she was repeatedly slashed in the early hours of yesterday.

A man, 23, has been held suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

I don't the specifics of this case BUT I swish the young woman a speedy recovery.

That said the anti-social behavior from some (note the word 'some') of the university students is giving the university and their fellow students a bad name.

It's time that someone had a word with the people running the university about it.

I didn't and I don't the specifics of the above attack - I thought that I made that clear.

With regard to the rest of my comment, I was referring to some of the all night partying that some of them are doing that is causing a problem on Greenstead. We have enough anti-social behaviour people on the estate (a small but significant minority) that make life for other people with out the students adding to the situation.

i hope that clears that point up.

Once again I hope that the person who was attacked makes a speedy recovery.

I heard that a few years ago at the Uni a student rampaged and stabbed another through the chest with a broken pool cue. Hardly a regular occurance thou.
