A 16-YEAR-OLD was threatened by a man with a knife during an attempted robbery in Clacton.

The victim was approached by the man in an alleyway between Parry Drive and Cloes Lane.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Sunday.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The man showed the victim what is believed to have been a knife in his waistband, threatened him and demanded money.

"Nothing was taken and the victim managed to leave the area."

The man has been described to police as white, aged about 18, 5ft 5ins tall, of medium build, with short curly hair and a black beard/moustache.

He was wearing a dark coloured, baggy tracksuit trousers and a dark blue hooded top with the hood up. The top possibly had a zip down the front.

The spokesman added: "Officers are particularly keen to speak to a man who may have witnessed the incident or seen the suspect.

"He is described as white, aged between 60 and 80, wearing glasses and a striped t-shirt."
