KIND-HEARTED Jon Wharton was a sight for saur eyes after donning fancy dress for Clacton's latest seafront Parkrun.

The athlete is on a fund-raising mission and wore a dinosaur costume for the weekly 5km run.

Far from being a nervous rex, he completed the distance in style as he continues his quest to raise money for Shorefields School pupil Lyla Harvey.

Little Lyla has a condition called Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome and Wharton is using the Parkrun as part of his training plan for the Great East Run on September 24.

He will be back there for the next two Saturdays.

Wharton has a JustGiving page - justgiving.com/fundraising/lylas-dinosaur

The Clacton Parkrun is a 5km event that takes place at 9am every Saturday, starting at the Beach Diner near the Toby Carvery.

It is a fun, community run that everyone is welcome to take part in.
