LITTLE ones joined forces with their parents for some half-term fun.

Dozens of children took part in Essex Wildlife Trust’s pond-dipping session at Abberton Reservoir.

The afternoon event saw families scour the marshes in a bid to find and inspect creepy crawlies at close range.

It was one of several events organised by the wildlife trust during the school half-term holidays.

A trust spokesman said: “We organise a great deal of events but of course we do more in times when the schools are off.

“There is always something on offer.”
