Here's a round-up of some of the works, obstructions and closures on Colchester roads over the next week.

  • TRAFFIC will continue to be diverted away from a town centre road while a collapsed sewer is repaired.

St John's Street will be closed until next Thursday (June 30) while Anglian Water carry out an emergency excavation of the sewer.

Drivers are being diverted along Southway and Headgate.

  • DRIVERS are being warned of delays at a traffic hotspot when BT carries out work for six days.

Multi-way traffic lights will be in place on East Hill, near The Goat and Boot pub, and in East Street, near the junction with Brook Street, while BT works on new customer connections, from June 27 and July 2.

  • A SLIP-ROAD is set to re-open tomorrow after being closed for works for four days.

The section of Newcomen Way leading from the Ardleigh Interchange onto Severalls Industrial Estate was shut for resurfacing on Monday.

  • DRIVERS are being warned of heavy traffic before and after a concert at Colchester United's stadium.

Lionel Richie will be performing at Weston Homes Community Stadium in United Way on Saturday evening at 8.45pm.

Essex Highways have confirmed they will not be enforcing any road closures.

Doors open at 5pm and the show is expected to finish at around 10.45pm.

  • TWO-WAY traffic signals will be in place for another three days while works are carried out.

Essex Highways workers are aligning the kerb on the approach to the mini-roundabout joining Layer Road, Berechurch Hall Road and Gosbecks Road., in Colchester.

The work is expected to finish on June 26.

  • TEMPORARY traffic lights are set to be removed from a road tomorrow.

Two-way signals have been in place in Military Road, Colchester, near the junction with Myrtle Grove since Tuesday while the National Grid installs a new domestic service.

  • DRIVERS are being warned of delays while the National Grid carries out work in a busy road.

Two-way traffic lights will be in place near the Cannon Street junction in Barrack Street, Colchester, from Monday to Thursday next week.

The National Grid will be installing a new domestic service.

  • STOP and go boards will be used to control traffic while two separate agencies carry out works in one road.

Workers from Anglian Water will excavate a section of Lexden Road between Sanders Drive and Lockhart Avenue from June 25 to 27.

From June 27 to 29, boards will be in place at the junction with Oxford Road while BT carries out work.
