A POPULAR pub has scooped a national award for its outstanding wine list.
The Sun Inn on High Street, Dedham was given the Wine Award for England at the glitzy AA Hospitality Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The team were also named the overall wine list winner for the UK.
Wines at the pub include more than the usual Pinot Grigios, Merlots and Sauvignons with a range of flavours from Italy and France allowing guests to sample different flavours.
The bash was hosted by newsreader and television presenter Fiona Bruce while guests enjoyed a menu cooked by Michelin starred seafood specialist chef Nathan Outlaw.
Owner Piers Baker was delighted to receive the award He said: “I would like to pay a special thanks to my friend Hamish Anderson whose help, advice and general good taste is invaluable in helping me shape the wine list.”
