A RANGE of events are being held to raise money for the Cancer Centre Campaign.

Colchester Hospitals Charity is marking International Nurses’ Day, on May 12, by encouraging people to hold a vintage afternoon tea party, cake sale or coffee morning.

A Waterloo Ball is being held at the Moot Hall, in Colchester Town Hall, in June.

Fundraisers will be earning every penny of their sponsorship, when they take part in the Mucky Races 5k and 10k muddy challenge, at Ardleigh, in July.

A poetry evening is being held in Wivenhoe, in July, and brave dads are being sought to take part in a fundraising skydive, for the appeal on Father’s Day, on June 21.

A celebrity cricket match is being staged in Colchester’s Castle Park in September.

Players already signed up include former footballing star Matt Holland, who is now an acclaimed football pundit, and former Essex and England cricketer Graham Napier.

The game will be followed by dinner at Le Talbooth.
