STAFF at a north Essex firm will mark its tenth anniversary by climbing Mount Snowdon.

Steve and Karen Wilkes, owners of Silver Lining Estate Planning in Feering, will join their seven staff and set up the 1,085-metre mountain on October 4.

In the process, they hope to raise £10,000 for Headway Essex.

Steve said: “It’s been a great ten years since we set up the business and we wanted to do something to mark the occasion and raise money for Headway in the process.

“When Karen and I launched the business, our ethos from day one was to treat our staff and our customers as we would wish to be treated ourselves.

“We’ve met and overcome challenges along the way and see our team’s journey as a bit like climbing a mountain (and getting back down again!) – hence our idea of taking on Snowdon.

“None of us are particularly fit types but we’re in training and we aim to raise £10,000 for Headway by completing the climb in the one day.”

Last year, the firm offered Royal British Legion members discounts on will-writing and is keen to offer similar packages to local businesses.
