DETECTIVES are appealing for help to solve a murder committed three months ago today.

Nahid Al-Manea, 31, of Woodrow Way, was stabbed 16 times and killed on the Salary Brook Trail, Colchester, shortly before 10.40am on Tuesday, June 17.

The Essex University student from Saudi Arabia was walking alone to lectures when she was attacked.

Det Chief Inspector Mark Hall said: "Over the past few weeks we have made a significant amount of progress.

"We have built up a clearer picture of Nahid’a lifestyle and we have been carrying out a detailed trawl of all the CCTV images that are available.

"This is a detailed and time consuming process and has required the use of specialist interpreters.

"We are still appealing for a number of people who may have been using the Salary Brook Trail on the morning that Nahid was murdered to come forward.

"All of the people we are looking for may have information that is relevant to the investigation.

"They may be students and could be returning back to the campus in the next few days.

"Any information you have no matter how small could help us so please get in touch via the incident room on 01245 282103 or anonymously via independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Crimestoppers have offered a reward on £10,000 payable for information which leads to the conviction of the person or people responsible for Nahid’s murder.
