A volunteer stalwart has been honoured for her hard work.
Sylvia Hobbs, of The Close, Jaywick, was given the volunteer of the year award at a ceremony organised by Tendring Community Voluntary Services (TCVS).
She has been involved in the Jaywick Residents' Association for the last 20 years, and was instrumental in the foundation of the luncheon club in the village, as well as in the fight to retain a library at Golf Green Hall.
"I was very surprised to be given the award, and very touched," said Syvia.
