STAFF at a chain of electrical shops across south Essex, have an anxious wait to see if they face redundancy within the next five years.
DSG International, the owner of Currys and PC World, has revealed it is planning to close 77 of its Currys.digital shops.
The Currys.digital shops were originally Dixons Photographic, a firm which started in Southend in the 1930s.
In south Essex, there are Currys.digital stores in Southend High Street, Town Square, Basildon, and Lakeside shopping centre.
Spokesman Adam Dean said no decision had been made.
