Kicking-off against the media
Colchester United's staff XI showed their media counterparts exactly how it's done, in a special one-off contest at Layer Road.
A U's team featuring the likes of manager Geraint Williams and assistant manager Kit Symons, along with fellow former favourites Joe Dunne and David Gregory, took on a media team which included representatives from the Gazette, BBC Essex and SGR Colchester and managed by the Gazette's U's reporter Jonathan Waldron.
The Colchester XI ran out 4-0 winners in the match, with Williams, Dunne, first team physiotherapist Tony Flynn and youth team player development officer Aron Barnes scoring the goals.
