Colchester: Parents pay tribute to daughter
THE parents of a teenage girl from Colchester killed in a road accident have paid tribute to the "sunshine" of their lives.
Jordan Bell, aged 14, of Littlefield Road was in collision with a blue Volkswagen Golf travelling towards Layer-de-la-Haye at the junction of Layer Road and Lordswood Road at about 4.50pm on Friday afternoon.
She was treated for serious injuries by parademics at the scene before being rushed to Colchester General Hospital, where she died.
In a statement, parents Steve and Michelle Bell paid tribute to their "beautiful" daughter, who was an only child and attended Alderman Blaxill school.
"Our beautiful, blonde, blue-eyed daughter, the sunshine of our lives, so full of spirit and generosity, smiling, laughing, will remain forever in our hearts and will be missed and loved by all who knew her," they said.
"Love always, our darling."
Part of Layer Road was closed off for around three-and-a-half hours after the incident to allow police to investigate.
Anyone with information is urged to call Stanway Road Policing Unit on 01206 762512.
* A 27-year-old man from the Colchester area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
He was interviewed and given unconditional bail to return to Colchester Police Station on May 23.

Such a loss.It has affected everyone that knew you. Only met you a few times when u popped round to see my son, but you were a ray of sunshine with a bright smile and brighter personality. My thoughts are with your family and know how much you are missed so much by all.
