YOU would expect a street which houses the oldest church building in Colchester to have gone through a huge amount of change.
And this sequence of photographs from our archives show how Trinity Street has done just that.
It takes its name from the Holy Trinity Church, parts of which date back to 1020.
The Saxon doorway in the west side of the tower has a triangular head, common in Anglo-Saxon windows but unusual in a doorway.
The building, owned by Colchester Council, was deconsecrated a number of years ago.
It went on to be a cafe and indoor market before it was announced it would be taken over by the mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind.
