A STEAK restaurant is opening a branch in Stanway next month creating 50 jobs.

Miller & Carter is recruiting chefs, waiting staff and bar-tenders for the London Road eaterie which will open its doors on April 7.

The company has franchises across the country but this is the first time time it will have had a presence in the town.

Work began on refurbishing the premises five weeks ago. Luke Brooks, regional business manager at Miller & Carter, says: “Everyone who works for us is completely obsessed with steak and we’re keen to recruit people who share in our love for excellent quality, both food and service.

“We want them to become official steak geeks.”

Miller & Carter serves premium-graded beef, sourced from carefully selected cattle reared on sustainable British and Irish farms, before being matured for at least 30 days.  It is also know for matching cocktails and wines to complement its steaks and is keen to recruit bar staff for this purpose.

Miller & Carter was awarded England’s Best Sirloin Steak 2015 in the Foodservice category at the quality standard mark excellence awards.
