One of the town’s most longstanding and prolific performers, Polly Haynes, is about to release her new single.

Released on Friday on all major platforms including Spotify and iTunes, I’m Fine is the first of four singles to be released by the popular singer/songwriter.

They’re the result of a very successful summer last year when Polly spent time working with award winning producer Tom Donovan to record what she says is her best body of work yet.

Polly is well known in the town for her work with previous bands such as Newton’s Apple and the Polly Violet Collective, and while she has other musical projects on the go, including being the latest member of Hobo Chang, she’s always been a keen songwriter.

A huge hit in her home town in recent years Polly has taken her distinctive jazz folk sounds further afield.

Back in 2016 she entered Britain’s best busker competition, Gigs, which was run in the capital by the mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

And most recently she has been Stateside in California where she performed a string of live shows and recorded a series of videos whilst travelling up the world famous Pacific Coast Highway.

Now back in Colchester, Polly is holding a special launch this weekend with the help of local promotions company, Pink Shed, run by Polly and her musical partner Tom Eyers.

That take’s place at the Brewhouse in Queen Street, on Saturday, March 31, when Polly will be supported by her newly expanded full band and the single’s accompanying music video will be premiered via projection.
