THE delicious raspy folk tones of Southend troubadour Matt Boulter will be ringing through the rafters of St Nicholas Church in Laindon this Sunday.
Also on the bill for this memorial concert, are Jenny Wren and Her Borrowed Wings and Steve and Hannah O'Driscoll.
The concert has been put on in memory of David Hymas, the father of renowed Basildon music promoter and mandolin wizard Joe Hymas, or more widely known on the music scene as Hippy Joe.
Since his father's passing some years back, Joe vowed to hold a bi-annual tribute concert to take place in the church where his late father worshipped, with a different local charity benefitting from each event.
This year the charity will be War Child.
Joe said: "We are celebrating the life of a music lover with an evening of live music".
St Nicholas Church is in Church Road.
The concert begins at 7pm.
Admission is £5.
