BUS and transport enthusiasts had a great time at the Castle Point Transport Museum’s open day.

The annual event was a big success, with people enjoying stalls, model train layouts, bus rides and much more at the museum, in Point Road, Canvey.

An organiser posted: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our annual transport show today on Canvey.

“The show is a massive logistical challenge for our small team of volunteer members but our numbers are boosted by other fantastic volunteers from various groups on the island, and we are always really pleased to see how many people put so much effort into bringing their classic buses, cars and other vehicles to the event too.

“We thank all of the members of the public who come through the doors and ride on some great buses, old and new.

“And we thank the stall holders like Essex Bus Enthusiasts Group who bring so much great merchandise along.

“Finally, an even more massive vote of thanks to the residents of the island, our valued neighbours, the Canvey Football Club and the traders who feed and water us all day. See you next year.”
