AS students at Essex University ready themselves for their next educational adventure, for the rest of us that means a cracking new line-up of shows at the campus' Lakeside Theatre.

It all starts on Monday with a real theatrical treat in store for 'Welcome Week' when internationally acclaimed mime artist Trygve Wakenshaw makes a welcome return to Wivenhoe Park with his latest smash hit show.

That's Nautilus, the third and final instalment in his Underwater Trilogy of solo-shows but perhaps his biggest and most daring, exploring both the form of mime and asking why we have an imagination.

Growing up in New Zealand, he went to study with the world-renowned Philippe Gaulier in Paris for two years before basing himself in London.

His first solo show, Squidboy picked up awards for best performance at the Auckland Fringe 2013 and enjoyed a sell-out season at Edinburgh the same year, while follow-up Kraken, was nominated for both the Barry Award and the Golden Gibbo award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

He's at the Lakeside Theatre on Wednesday from 7.30pm.

Other highlights for the rest of the month include Just An Ordinary Lawyer about Britain's first black judge on October 19,
