THEY'RE the US comedy troupe everyone is going to be talking about.

That's Aspergers Are Us, who are about to unleash their original sketch comedy and deadpan absurdist wordplay - complete with a question-and-answer at the end - on an unsuspecting UK audience.

We sent them some questions to find out a little bit more - unfortunately we're still none the wiser.

Aspergers Are Us are at the Colchester Arts Centre on Tuesday, July 11. For tickets call the box office on 01206 500900 or go on-line at www.colchesterartscentre.com

Who is in the group and how did all four of you meet?

Jack, Noah, Ethan, and New Michael. We used to have a fifth member, Bibendum the Michelin Man, who introduced us, but then retyred.

Where was your first show, how did it go?

Spartanburg, South Carolina at the Michelin North American headquarters. The show consisted of us calling and asking for free Bibendum merchandise, but it turns out there is already a website for this purpose, so we also chose to retire.

Why did you call the group Asperger’s Are Us?

Michelin sued us when we tried to call it "Bibendum is Us," so we had to use the English translation of that instead.

Have you toured the UK before? What are you expecting from us over here on the other side of the Atlantic?

We’ve never toured outside the US before and we're really excited to be in the UK. It's too bad that Colchester is the only night our tour intersects with Jimmy Carr's, because we're sad that his audience will be so much smaller than usual. Also, we wish he would come perform with us. We expect that, although you may not know who Bibendum is, you're smart enough that you'll research it.

What do you think us Brits think is funny?

Doing things the opposite way we do in the US, like with driving. In the US, the driver faces the front. Also, in the US, we name things after places in Britain, but in Britain, you seem to enjoy naming things after places in New England. For instance, we’ve all lived in Essex County for years, but this is the first time our troupe has been within a thousand miles of Colchester.

Who are your comedy heroes?

Steven Wright, Andy Kaufman, Emo Phillips, K-Strass, Monty Python, Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker, and of course He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

What makes you guys laugh?

Neural synapses fire in a pattern in specific subsections of the brain, triggering neurotransmitters to connect to the dendrites of neighbouring neurons, and this process reminds us of something rude.
