GET ready for a Christmas cracker of a comedy event filled with gags and festive cheer.

The Little Smash’s Christmas Comedy Hamper is coming to the Palace Theatre, Westcliff, on Friday, December 12, at 8pm.

It is hosted by Southend’s finest, Russell Kane, who will introduce the hottest up-and-coming stand-ups, each selected from the funnyman’s Christmas comedy workshop.

The star of BBC3’s Live at the Electric and Dave’s One Night Stand and Fosters’ Comedy Award winner, Russell returns to Southend for one night only.

Guffaw as he introduces Ash Frith, Ross McGrane and Suzy Bennett.

Capping it all off is a set from Matt Kirshen, best known for Channel 4’s Rude Tube and the US TV talent show, Last Comic Standing.

Matt has recently finished a stint as tour support for Jimmy Fallon across the States and it will be one of few opportunities to see him in the UK.

So put down your mince pies and lube up your funny bones, Santa Smash is coming to town!

The Christmas Comedy Hamper costs £15, with a £1.50 per ticket booking fee. Groups of 10-plus should call the theatre to buy fee-free.

The show at the London Road theatre starts at 8pm.
