The second episode of I Am Cait aired in the US last night, and it was an emotional one. Viewers bawled their eyes out as Caitlyn Jenner explored her trans identity, taking a road trip with some new trans friends and opening up about her insecurities around wearing a bikini and her masculine voice.

So, to answer this question…

…no. You’re not the only one.

The road trip had its hairy moments, as the 65-year-old revealed her conservative views about social welfare – and found herself at odds with her companions, who regarded them as a lifeline for transgender people.

As the group discuss working with homeless and unemployed trans people, Caitlyn asks: “Don’t a lot of times they can make more not working, with social programmes, than they actually can with an entry-level job?”

She goes on to explain, “You don’t want people to get totally dependent on it.”

Following Caitlyn’s comments, LGBT activist Jenny Boylan later tells the camera that Caitlyn lives in a “bubble”, and adds: “Now I’m worried… many transgender men and women need social programmes to survive, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

Some people reacted against Caitlyn, calling her out for her privilege.

Others came to her defence.

Also in the episode, Caitlyn reveals her worries about her body when her friends strip down to swimwear and get in the hot tub.

The former Olympian declines to join them, and later admits: “I don’t think I’m ready for that. You have to realise these girls transitioned years and years and years ago. I just don’t know if I’m ready to expose myself like that.”

She also talks about having vocal surgery to sound more feminine.

Luckily, Twitter was on hand with some encouragement:
