Fancy playing at one of the area's biggest open air concerts?
The Gazette, in conjunction with SGR Colchester and Snake in the Grass, are
holding a competition to find two bands to play at this year's Party
in the Park concerts - and one of them could be your group.
With a change in format, this year's event kicks-off with a raft of local bands
on the Friday night, showing why Colchester is still one of the most exciting
places for home-grown musical talent.
Headlined by Saltdog, other bands on the bill at the moment include the award
winning ska collective New Town Kings, and up-and-coming rock group Streetlight
Youth.
Two more slots are to be filled by the
winners of our Rock the Park competition - but if you want to be in with a chance
of getting on stage in front of hundreds of people, you need to act fast.
To enter you will need to register below by emailing
us with a colour
picture, a brief biography of
your band and up to three sample tracks.
The closing date for entries is May
23 after which the best five will be selected by a panel of judges
to go forward to an online vote.
Voting will last another three weeks before we announce the top two bands who
will join the other three on stage in Colchester's
Lower Castle Park on July 25.
