If you would like a pretty destination with a year round temperature you can more or less rely on then why not try and pick up one of the many cheap Paphos holidays that are available.

Paphos, which used to be the capital of Cyprus, is now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. It is located on the south west of the Cyprus and has incredible year round weather. Summer months see temperatures that can reach over thirty degrees celcius and the winter months have temperatures of approximately the twenty degrees celcius mark. This gives us an amazing destination where we can do away with our winter blues in the UK and get away from the cold and rain we repeatedly get in our winter.

When in Paphos there is something for everyone from the quite lively nightlife and brilliant shopping to the rich history and culture just waiting to be discovered. It is a modern beach resort twinned with an interesting inland town and surrounding villages.

Paphos attracts many different types of holiday makers from families, couples to groups of friends as the resort presents everyone with many activities and attractions to do. The current and up to date beach resort offers an array water sport activities on picture perfect golden sandy beaches and stunning clear waters ideal for swimming in safely. Coral Bay area is the most popular beach and probably the most attractive beach on the whole of Cyprus Island which is why it understandably has been awarded a Blue Flag award for its cleanliness and beauty.

Paphos is separated into two areas, one of these being Paphos Town which is set back from the harbour and the area of Kata Paphos, set further down on the seafront and harbour area which is the leading area where you will find all the bars, cafes and nightlife.

Paphos town, set in the hill side is fabulous for all of its narrow winding hilly lanes that are lined with traditional shops selling souvenirs and local crafts however, should you want more up to date outlets then the sea front is the place to be offering many trendy stores.

Some of the experiences you can discover in Cyprus are amazing and while you are in Paphos you should certainly try and discover some of Cyprus' fabulous history and culture.

Paphos has plenty of places of interest and sights and one of the most significant facts of the area, in particular to local people, is that the Greek goddess of beauty and love, Aphrodite, was born here.

The Tomb of the Kings is a definite excursion to take advantage of. It was built in the forth century and is a magnificent archaeological phenomenon. Contrary to the name of the place, there was no kings actually buried here, in fact it was aristocrats and high ranking clergy that got buried here instead. The amazing architecture is on show with the underground tombs, which are still to this say being excavated, being carved out of solid rock. It really is a really charming spot to see and discover.

Another beauty of Paphos is the Paphos Odeon. This is a second century amphitheatre built from limestone. It has a seating capacity of up to twelve hundred people and every year in the month of June, a choir festival is held here. It attracts many of Cyprus' choirs and also many choirs from across the world. The Paphos Odeon is also host to many musical and theatre performances throughout the year.

There is so much to do when you are here in Paphos and especially if you enjoy a spot of sightseeing along with the beauty of the magnificent beaches. There are so many cheap Paphos holidays on the market, especially if you go out of season which is very viable with the island having a very mild year round temperature. Enjoy a summer or winter break in on of Europe's most fascinating islands.
