Burnout Paradise

Burnout Paradise is the latest excellent instalment from talented developers Criterion Games.
This time you get to roam around a city of Paradise, filled to the brim with roaring traffic, great atmosphere and a huge variety of jumps and obstacles!
Burnout has always been famous for its notorious spectacular crashes, accidents, and stunts, and there's no shortage in the action stakes this time either.
Burnout Paradise right from the start offers total freedom with the city fully unlocked, meaning you can go anywhere, and everywhere, when you want to. This gives a sense you are not limited on what to do next.
While exploring the sprawling city, you can enter several different events ranging from a plain bog standard lap-race, to a match where you have to cause the most costly destruction. This game never gets old. There is always a nook or cranny you missed the last time you charged down a particular route.
Whether that be on the road, on the railway running above the city, buried beneath the buildings in an underground network. The possibilities are endless. You start the career as an unknown driver receiving a standard provisional licence.
Throughout the game you add points to your existing licence. This then enables different cars to be unlocked, different races to become available and also adds to your final scores.
The crashes are bone crunching, but take a look inside the cars. No driver. No passengers. That makes it a little more palatable than say Flatout which positively revelled in the destruction of the driver as well as their car.
This is a great fun game - very enjoyable and looks absolutely stunning. With sun shining off the bodywork, bits of metal rapidly flung through the air by the different chassis, and the speed effects, all add up to make one hell of a racing experience.
But remember, don't try this at home kids.
