Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Platform Playstation 3
Age 15
RRP £44.99
Being a modern day treasure hunter is every guys dream. Uncharted puts you into the role of Nathan Drake, a cocky, womanising, arrogant guy, with a lust for ancient treasure - all in sparkly high-def on the Playstation3.
The story starts out with Nathan Drake dragging a 400 year old coffin of Sir Francis Drake onto the deck of his hired boat. Inside holds the key (and many pictures) to the
whereabouts of the treasure of El Dorado . The key is a book, written by Francis. Inside this book are many different pictures, holding the answer to several different puzzles throughout the game. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune takes story telling games to the next level - literally with all the swinging about you need to do.
The story is in depth, and makes you feel part of it rather than just experiencing it from the 3 rd person perspective.
Nathan Drake can run, jump, climb, clamber, and swing through the number of levels in this game. Think Lara Croft in long trousers and no bust. During the adventure, Nathan becomes stranded on an island, hunted by mercenaries, and attacked from all angles, so you need to keep sharp and battle through. To aid your struggle for the treasure are a large number of weapons ranging from pistols, shotguns machine guns, and sniper rifles.
The levels look stunning thanks to Sony's new high definition console. To experience this first hand, you really need to connect your kit to your posh TV using a decent HDMI lead. Trees collapse when blown up, boxes and walls crumble when shot at. The environment changes really have an affect on the game play! There are even vehicles you can use to get around the island. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune brings action adventure, story telling, and also a sprinkle of cheesy one liners to make this original Playstation 3 release a classic in my books.
