Tiger Wood 10

12:30pm Monday 3rd August 2009

Golfing has come an enormous distance since the old Mega Drive – now there is touch and feel using the controllers.

You can swerve the ball, hook, slice to varying degrees, all deliberately.

It is astonishing just how complex the physics are in these games now, and the new Tiger Woods is the best there is.

This is the 10th in the series, so you would expect EA to be getting it right about now, and they do in spades.

It is available on all the games consoles too, and the Wii is particularly fun.

Swing control is a vital element to the real game, so why would it be left out of the game. It makes it harder to play, but hey, this is realism.

There are a myriad of tweaks since the last outing with two extra game play modes. Astonishingly you can play courses while real players are playing real tournaments and compare scores.

Amazing.

Of course it looks even better – photo realism can’t be far away now.
