ONE musician getting back to his musical roots is Robert Radley.
Many gig-goers will know Robert from the numerous concerts he has played in local venues over the past three years.
Robert is currently recording a debut album with rock band, the Lightbulb Excuse.
He has been studying at the Colchester Institute’s entre for Music and Performing Arts since 2005, gaining a national diploma in music practice in 2007. He is now completing his final year of a BA (Hons) music degree.
But he’s beginning another musical journey, as he plans to recreate the sound which first inspired him to pick up the guitar.
Robert said: “I have always had a huge interest in popular music and it was the Beatles who first inspired me to learn the guitar.
“Original samples, imagery and a wailing horn section will recreate the Beatles’ legendary sound and feel, creating an intimate, authentic and rocking atmosphere.”
With support from local musician, Alex Gordon, Robert’s Twist and Shout tribute to the Beatles takes place at the Colchester Garrison Officer’s Club, in St John’s Green, on Thursday, from 8pm.
Tickets are priced £10 and £6 for concessions, available from the box office on 01787 479972.
