Launching Headlong

10:00pm Wednesday 24th June 2009

IDLE Hours return home to Colchester this weekend, following a busy time in the recording studio.

The band have been in Southampton putting the finishing touches to their new EP, recorded with prog rock producer Rob Aubrey.

Rob has worked with the likes of Asia, Steve Howe and John Wetton, as well as contemporary progressive bands, notably Porcupine Tree and IQ.

Hours’ keyboardist, Pete Clouter, said: “Rob travelled up from Southampton to see us last year and was impressed enough with our performance that he offered to record us there and then. It was a real coup for the band, though we had no idea just how hard it would be.

“Rob is a real perfectionist with an incredible ear for music – his suggestions were all spot on and we have learnt so much.”

Now the group are launching the EP with a special gig at the Bull, in Crouch Street, Colchester, this Saturday.

Gig goers will be able to buy the EP, entitled Headlong, as well as hear the band play the new material, as well as some old favourites.

Entry to the music room is free and the band goes on stage at 9.30pm.
