A SERIES of events across Essex will mark National Women in Engineering Day on Monday.
The event is designed to celebrate the achievements of women in the profession and to help inspire more female school-leavers into engineering careers.
The Engineering Development Trust is working with schools, businesses and other organisations to spread the message: “Women are good for engineering and engineering is good for women.”
The trust’s Essex spokesman Gennie Franklin said: “The number of young women who regard engineering as a viable career opportunity is still far too few.
“We need to tackle the issue, and encourage more females to enter the industry.”
