Parents’ fury as doctors refuse to give children swine flu jabs

FURIOUS parents say they are not getting information they need about when their child will get the potentially life-saving swine flu jab.

Mums and dads are being left in the dark after it was revealed GPs are not willing to give the injection to healthy youngsters due to a row over increased workload.

The Government is now urging primary care trusts to put measures in place to enable nurses and other trained professionals to deliver the shots if necessary. But parents say they have no idea what is going on.

Stacey Mclaughlin, 26, said. “The issue needs to be sorted. We were told children under five would get the jab before Christmas. That doesn’t seem likely now. It’s not on.”

James Duddridge, MP for Rochford and Southend East, added: “It seems ludicrous the welfare of our children, is being put at risk because of squabbling adults.”

But do some homework before you inject your child with the vaccine. Try to find out what's in it at least.

Agreed, this is a rushed vaccine and like any medicine comes with many risks and possible side effects. Personally I will be steering well clear of this one.

According to recent CDC reports, the risk of severe side effects of any sort is about 82 per million. This doesn't sound like much, but it is nearly double the rate from seasonal flu vaccines, which were 47 per million. It means your are about 1000 times more likely to suffer a severe side effect, which includes death, than you are of winning the lottery.

Your better off avoiding most vaccines, as one of the letters above suggests, do your own research into what the vaccine contains. According to some sources it contains mercury. Or look up vernoncoleman.com

If you are so worried about your child having the jab you went to the Echo, why don't you pay and have it done privately?

Oh sorry, I said pay!

I would seriously check out the FACTS - not the lies & propaganda that's constantly spouted about swine flu & vaccines. The vaccine is more dangerous than 'swine flu'

good to see the conspiracy theorists at work - please can you check the facts - this vaccine has been as rushed and tested as the normal seasonal flu vaccine that millions have every year, the only tests that they have been unable to carry out due to obvious time restraints are on pregnant women. PLease if it is this bad why are there no reports of any bad side effects Im sure the daily mail would be all over it if there were.
I know of possibly 20 people that have contracted swine flu, one was pregnant and has been in a coma for nearly 2 months (fortunately now making a recovery) and one has died. Compare that to made up stories of possible side effects I dont want to put my families lives at risk.

Agreed!

There is so much in the media about swine flu that we are beginning to believe the hype. It's not the pandemic killer that we would believe, just an excuse for newspapers to shift more units. Swine Flu IS a killer, but then again, so is normal flu, pneumonia, hypothermia and a number of other illnesses. You don't see headlines in the tabloids every day about any of those illnesses.
Of course, people will still want the vaccines, but based on the whole tamiflu debacle where the side-effects were extreme & caused physical pain, vomiting etc., I would not be so vocal in demanding treatment that could possibly further endanger my child, or be indignant if it was refused. As far as I am concerned, Ms Mclaughlin's daughter might have had a bit of a lucky escape if this new vaccine is as bad as the old one.

I don't know who you think the conspiracy theorists are. I tend to base anything on fact, not what I read in the alleged news paper.
The information I provided came from the 'Centers for Disease Control and Prevention' and their evidence is backed by the 'World Health Organisation'. If you don't believe it yourself then do some research. Don't however base that research on peoples opinions, base it on the facts.
