Hospital governors election results announced

A hospital trust has announced the results of elections for its board of governors.

Voting took place by postal ballot for 15 public governors and five staff governor posts at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust between March 18 and April 1.

Ray Cole, Vi Haddow, Des McCarron, Elaine Smith, Gillian Wallis,Pauline Aldridge, John Dann, David Johnson, Mark Aitken, James Chung, Marilyn Jones, Hazel Law, Andy Patrick and Barry Wheatcroft were all elected to serve as public governors.

Chandra Sekharan was elected to represent doctors and dentists on the board while Val Asker will represent the hospital trust's support staff.

Jack Bell, Donna Booton, Kathy Flint and Isaac Ferneyhough were re-elected after their seats were unopposed.

They will all serve on the governing board, known as the members’ council, for three years.
