Essex County Farms competition

The results of the Essex County Farms Competition have been announced.

The large farms section was won by W Bradshaw and Son, of Fletchers Farm, Fordham. It is the fifth year in succession that a farm in the Colchester area has been judged the best in the county.

RESULTS: Farms over 700 acres: 1 W Bradshaw and Son, Fletchers Farm, Fordham; 2 Tritton Family Trustees, Lowleys Farm, Great Leighs; 3 Howies and Sons, Wicks Manor, Tolleshunt Major; conservation award – Tritton Family Trustees, Great Leighs; diversification award – S&J Padfield & Partners, Codham Hall, Great Warley.

Farms under 700 acres: 1 D Carter, Clapgate Farms, Little Clacton; 2 JA Brown and Son, Latton Priory, Harlow; 3 R Carr, Lawling Hall Farm, Latchingdon; conservation award – Waterers Farms, Russells Farm, Halstead; diversification award – JA Brown, Latton Priory, Harlow.
