John Turner Exhibition of Art. A First World War Centenary Event
Captain John Turner, M.C. Croix de Guerre, 1882-1918 was born in Coggeshall. Known as Jack he was a school teacher in Coggeshall and London, and well-known local artist who painted and sketched in and around Coggeshall. During the war he was an unofficial war artist for his regiment, and because of his bravery, a highly decorated soldier. Sadly he was killed a few weeks before the war ended.
This is a memorial exhibition of the largest collection of his work ever exhibited.
