Familiar face is back
A FAMILIAR face is looking to lift golf tuition to the next level' now he has returned to Lexden Wood Golf Club.
Jamie Lowe has come back to the club in Bakers Lane as a teaching professional, after a four-year absence, and he and club professional Nick Arter are now looking to develop a golf academy and promote the sport to youngsters.
Lowe, 33, initially worked there for six years between 1998 and 2004, before leaving to work at the Notleys Golf Club, however, he is pleased to be back at Lexden Wood again.
He and Arter are redesigning the club's academy so players will be able to go along for lessons and take advantage of state-of-the-art technology, including video analysis, to help improve their game.
Lowe said: "We will be giving golf lessons but are making it more professional rather than just having a traditional lesson.
"The video analysis we are using is a coaching system that the world's top coaches use.
"We never had a proper academy here before, but now we are taking it forward to the next level."
Lowe also said he is keen to develop Lexden Wood's work with promoting golf to younger players and they will be looking to run sessions for children at the academy as well as giving tuition in schools and colleges.
Lexden Wood is also running a series of golf camps for youngsters during the Easter and summer holidays.
The junior Easter camps are taking place on April 2, 3, 7, 8 and 10, with sessions between 9am and 2pm on all the days.
Cost per day is £35, including all equipment and lunch.
