Battling Harwich lose out

FORD II 1 HARWICH 0 East Men's League division six SE THIS was a top of the table clash, with Ford currently in second place behind Harwich.

Both teams were evenly matched, with goalscoring opportunities created at both ends of the pitch, and good midfield running from both sides.

Harwich were unlucky to concede the goal, the ball striking the post and rebounding on to Aaron Sime's heel and into the net.

Try as they might, Harwich were unable to convert their chances, giving Ford a hard-fought victory.

SUDBURY III 2 HARWICH 1 SHA Ladies premier division HARWICH made hard work of this fixture away to Sudbury.

After taking the lead through a superb strike from Rachel Joslin, they allowed the opposition back into the match, with Liz Spencer scoring twice to give Sudbury a 2-1 advantage.

Fiona Wynne on the Harwich left played well, and, on another day her shots would have found the net, but on this occasion Harwich had to watch them fly over the bar and past the post.

Despite increased Harwich pressure, Sudbury held on to take all three points.
