TK COPE AT FULL THROTTLE

TK COPE Moto Ltd – a successful Yamaha motorcycle store – has gone from strength to strength since it was established in 1964 by Mr Ken Cope.

The original premises were in Mistley, Manningtree, where Mr Cope sold an assortment of motorcycles.

In 1979, a Yamaha franchise was obtained. The business moved to Military Road, Colchester, in 1983, the premises of which were rather cramped, but with the company’s personal service and genuine enthusiasm for motorcycles, it created a very loyal customer base.

Ken Cope senior retired in 2006 and the business was taken over by Steve Cope, who bought the business from his father.

It moved premises again in March 2007, this time to its current base in Grange Farm Road, Whitehall.

A spokesman for the company said: “We believe our success is due to the commercial and personal involvement of Yamaha, key suppliers and the family run firm of TK Cope Moto, including its staff."

This reflects in the customers use of the brand (Yamaha), local and national events; European riding trips, British/World Superbikes hospitality and support to a local supersport team Linxcel/Seton and Hudson Kennaugh.

“Eight months on, we now recognise there is a need for a bike training school, so the new riders can enjoy the complete Yamaha experience."

“The school is now open, with professional and competent, established instructors of a high level.

“We aim to give every rider the very best training and, of course, ride the ever popular YBR 125s and new XJ6’diversion.”
