A COLCHESTER man has been charged in connection with four south Essex incidents.
Jay Williams, 31, of Military Road, Colchester, was arrested after a robbery in Basildon yesterday.
He was remanded in police custody to appear before magistrates in Basildon this morning.
Williams has been charged with three counts of robbery relating to offences at Subway in Pitsea Broadway on February 2, at Coral Racing bookmakers in Wickford on February 2 and at the BP petrol station in Nethermayne, Basildon, on Saturday.
He has also been charged with one count of attempted robbery in connection with an incident at the Asda petrol station in Eastgate, Basildon on Sunday, and with possessing a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
