  • specialist bid success

    a braintree school has been successful in its bid for specialist status. Tabor High School has achieved status as a specialist science school which will bring in thousands of pounds of extra funding for developing the school. The £50,000 bid was submitted in October after pupils, teachers, Governors and parents spent around two years raising £20,000 themselves and a Government grant secured the remaining cash. The new status will also benefit the surrounding community as well as pupils and staff. read more

  • A12 work planned

    drivers are warned of overnight closures on the A12 for resurfacing work. The A12 northbound Colchester bypass will be closed overnight for ten nights with traffic set to be diverted through the town. The work to resurface and repair the A12 northbound between Spring Lane (junction 27) and the Crown Interchange starts on Friday February 6 and is set to end on February 16. read more
