ANOTHER giant window estimated to be worth thousands of pounds has been smashed at Colchester’s Firstsite gallery.
The 12ft tall window, next to the main entrance, is thought to have been smashed deliberately with a stone and police are investigating.
A Firstsite spokesman said the exact value of the window was unknown and an insurance claim had been made.
Last October a £70 stud designed to stop skateboarders was used to smash another slightly bigger window, worth £10,000, at the gallery entrance.
More than 140 studs were installed to deter skateboarders from damaging street furniture at the facility but one was unscrewed to carry out the crime.
An Essex Police spokesman said it was appealing for witnesses to the latest incident that happened on the evening of Thursday August 7.
Anyone with information should contact Colchester Police on 101.
