A total of 16,000 fans are due to descend on the Weston Homes Community Stadium in Colchester to see Sir Elton John in concert on Sunday.

Tickets to see the international superstar are practically sold out.

But organisers are trying to kept congestion in and around the stadium venue to a minimum by offering more than 8,000 parking spaces at different locations.

All the parking spaces at the stadium have now sold out but parking is available at the Ardleigh car boot site off the A12.

The area has space for 7,000 cars but pre-booking at a cost of £8 per vehicle is strongly advised.

A shuttle bus will take fans to and from the concert. To book your parking for Ardleigh, call 0845 437 9089 or go to www.colutickets.com.

A shuttle bus service will also run from Bruff Close near North Station in Colchester costing £2 per person return.

And Colchester Rugby Club is also offering parking spaces. The club is a 15 minute walk from the stadium. Cars must be booked in advance at £5 per vehicle.

At the stadium, extra catering and drink outlets are being set up along with additional toilets.
