POLICE investigating the murder of Colchester student Nahid Al-Manea have sealed off a road after a knife was discovered.

Hawthorn Avenue has been briefly cordoned off after a passer-by found the item near drains on the road today.

A week on from the murder officers have been targeting their enquiries around the area where her body was discovered.

Nahid,  31, was murdered on the Salary Brook Trail in Colchester at 10.40am on Tuesday, June 17.

Detectives have set up checkpoints asking people if they were in the area at around the same time last week.

They have been speaking to cyclists and pedestrians in particular.
